"When you create a sacred place in your demanding schedule, things simply fall into place."
— Cynthia J. Stewart, Your Inner Game
For most of us, life feels too full. We live in a world that rewards constant motion with many demands. Our calendars overflow with meetings, commitments, and family needs. Often, the first thing pushed aside is our quiet connection with God. We tell ourselves,“I’ll slow down when things ease up.”
But Dear One, someday never comes.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35 NIV)
Even in the height of His ministry, when crowds pressed in on every side, Jesus withdrew to solitary places to pray. If the Son of God needed sacred space, how much more do we? Sacred space isn’t about escaping life’s demands — it’s about anchoring yourself in God’s presence so you can meet those demands with peace and clarity.
Start small. Even five minutes of prayer or silence can open the door to God’s peace.
Mark sacred pauses.Light a candle, open your Bible, or step outside — create a signal that tells your soul,“This moment belongs to God.”
Protect the margin. Schedule quiet time like an appointment, and keep it. Sacred space is not wasted time; it’s the foundation of fruitful time.
Where might you carve out a few moments of sacred space today — in the morning before the world stirs, during your lunch break, or in the evening before rest?
Sacred space doesn’t require an empty calendar; it requires an open heart. When you make room for God, He multiplies your capacity for everything else.
Begin creating sacred space in your life by exploring God’s design for you. Your Inner Game will guide you through the process of creating sacred spaces in your time.
