"Your talents are a reflection of where God has made you strong for the work He has prepared for you to do."
— Cynthia J. Stewart, The Authentic You
Have you ever wondered why certain tasks energize you while others drain you? Or why you seem to naturally excel in some areas that others find challenging? These aren’t coincidences — they are gifts from God, placed within you as part of your Divine Design.
Scripture reminds us in 1 Peter 4:10:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Your strengths are not just skills you’ve picked up along the way. They are God-given abilities meant to help you live with purpose and contribute to His Kingdom.
When you recognize and honor those strengths, you begin to see how perfectly God has equipped you for your calling.
When you lean into your strengths:
You experienceenergy and joyinstead of constant burnout.
You contribute yourbest workto your family, business, and community.
You stop comparing yourself with others and startembracing your uniqueness.
You recognize that your strengths aren’t about you alone — they are meant toserve others.
Living in your strengths doesn’t mean ignoring your weaknesses. It means focusing on where God has already empowered you, so you can flourish in the roles He’s designed for you.
There are many tools to help identify strengths — one I recommend is CliftonStrengths®, because it offers practical language to describe what you naturally do best. But you don’t need an assessment to start.
Begin by asking yourself:
What tasks feel effortless, even when they’re challenging?
What do others consistently affirm about me?
When do I feel most alive and effective?
Your answers will begin to reveal patterns — hints of the strengths God has woven into your life.
Recognizing your talents is an important step in uncovering your Divine Design. Alongside your story and your passions, your strengths are guideposts pointing you toward your purpose.
