Gifted by Grace: Embrace Your Spiritual Gifts

Today's Reflection

"Knowing our own special gifts from the Holy Spirit empowers our ability to serve."
— Cynthia J. Stewart, Your Inner Game

Every believer is given spiritual gifts — divine abilities entrusted to us by the Holy Spirit for building up the Body of Christ. These gifts are not for our own glory but for God’s Kingdom purpose.

What Are Spiritual Gifts?

The Bible tells us that each follower of Jesus is given gifts through the Spirit.

Romans 12:6 reminds us:
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”

Spiritual gifts are thewhatof your calling. They define the unique role God has equipped you to play in His Kingdom. While talents and skills can be developed, spiritual gifts are given. They are God’s supernatural empowerment for ministry.

Why They Matter

When you use your spiritual gifts:

  • The Church is strengthened and Christ is glorified.

  • You experience joy and fulfillment, serving where you’re meant to serve.

  • You start embracing your place in God’s story.

  • You align your service with God’s Spirit, not just your effort.

When we ignore or suppress our gifts, the Body of Christ misses out — and so do we.

How Do You Begin?

Discovering your gifts starts with prayer, reflection, and action. Consider these steps:

  • Pray for clarity— ask God to reveal how His Spirit has equipped you.

  • Read the Scriptures— explore passages on spiritual gifts (Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4, 1 Peter 4).

  • Pay attention to fruit— notice where your service consistently bears impact.

  • Seek feedback— ask trusted believers what gifts they see in you.

Many churches also offer spiritual gifts assessments — but the most powerful discovery comes from listening to God and stepping out in faith.

Living Out Your Gifts

Dear One, your gifts are not accidental. They were entrusted to you by God for such a time as this. When you begin to use them, you’ll find your place in His Kingdom work with greater joy and clarity.

Spiritual gifts show us what we are called to do in advancing God's Kingdom. In the next step of Your Divine Design journey, we’ll explore your strengths — the how that helps you carry out those gifts with excellence and authenticity.
